June 13 : Working Bee at Dhamma Sarana Temple, Keysborough
Members of the Old Anandians of Victoria, participated in a "shramadana" at the Dhamma Sarana Temple, Keysborough on the 13th of June.
We were assingned to work outside around the newly build Dharma Shala. We would like to convey our heartiest thanks to all those who came and devoted their time for this meritorious event.
We are happy to advise that we are going to have the Paduru Sadaya on the 5th of June.

EVENTS ALREADY HELD FOR THE YEAR 2008/09
September 01 : Donation to Ananda College Vihara Renovation Fund
A donation of LK Rs 130,000 was made towards renovation of Ananda Vihara. Mr Yathna Perera, the current President of Ananda Buddhist Association, accepted the donation with thanks.
OAAV wishes to thank all those who donated money to the Vihara Renovation Fund.
July 02 : OAAV donates LK Rs. 1.3 million worth of sleeping bags for the SL Army
On the 2nd of July, the President of OAAV Mr. Asanka Kodikara together with Kapila Jayasuriya met with the Sri Lankan Army Chief of Staff Sri Lanka Army Major General G.A. Chandrasiri and made the donation of 1130 sleeping bags worth of LK Rs. 1.3 million for the soldiers. This event was coordinated by Col Kalinga Guneratne.
The funds were raised by screening the popular Sinhalese movie “Nil Diya Yahana” in Melbourne. The main actor Mr. Saranga Dissasekera also participated at the occasion.
OAAV wishes to thank everyone who has supported this fund raising project in various ways to support a very worthy cause.
June 27 : Donation to IDP’s in the North
OAAV has donated LKRs 50,000 to the OLD ANANDIANS MEDICAL GUILD in order to fund the purchase of hotplates and pressure cookers to be used as sterilisers at the clinics OAMG is holding for the benefit of the IDPs in the Island’s North East.
The Sterilisation equipment purchased with the money OAAV, were handed over to the First Lady Mrs. Mahinda Rajapaksa on Saturday the 27th 2009, at Manik Farm IDP camp.

April 26 & May 3 : Nil Diya Yahana - Sinhala Movie
Organized by the Old Anandians Association of Victoria in order to raise funds for the welfare of Sri Lanka Army soldiers who are currently deployed in front line.

A love story directed by an award winning teledrama maker, make-up artiste, television producer and cinema journalist Dayaratne Ratagedara and award-winning cinematographer Donald Karunaratne.The stars in the stellar cast are Chathurika Peries, Saranga Dissasekara, Tony Ranasinghe, Chandani Seneviratne, Roshan Pilapitiya, Sanath Gunathilaka, Damayanthi Fonseka, Menika Attanayake, Manjula Moragaha, Nadee Chandrasekara, Chandrasoma Binduhewa, Daya Alwis and Minister Dilan Perera.
