WESAK BHAKTHI GEE - 2011

The OAAV continued with the annual Bhakthi Gee program with the kind sponsorship of Dr. Hemantha Karunaratne at three Buddhist temples during the Vesak season (Buddha day now recognised globally). Ananda College being the leading Buddhist school in Sri Lanka, this initiative was welcomed by many members including devotees.

It was great to see families of Anandians participating as female vocalists. Some of the talented old Anadian singers and musicians lead the event, which was very popular amongst the Sri Lankan Buddhist community in Melbourne. We would like to thank all those who came for practice sessions which were conducted by our own Anandians, Rukman Wimalasuriya (vocal training) & Harsha Jayalath (music & conduction) and three Royalists also assisted us with various musical instruments.

The OAAV wishes to thank all the temples, Anandians, their families and friends who helped with this initiative.
